Children show their impatience without inhibition. It’s not that adults are more patient but we are better able to disguise impatience. It’s been interesting having children around the calendar. There’s curiousity and sometimes an active listening. But in an instant the attention is diverted. Possibly giving attention to something is a learnt activity. Is it an essential human activity?
Going through the calendar and all its processes brings up my own impatience and how much more I have to learn about giving attention and truly listening and taking in the world. It’s often in this listening that God appears. More on that soon.
